Experience
Strengths in this role: One of my main strengths was providing actionable insights out of data sets. I was tasked with understanding complex cost inputs and distilling down to communicable concepts for leadership and ownership to use in their business decisions. Investment in R&D for new products, expansion (or reduction in investment) by business segment, and staffing were all under my scope of analysis. I also had a significant role in coaching the sales team on communication, strategy, and process.
Industry Group: Manufacturing
Industry: Machinery
Years of experience: 10 years
Company name: Norland International
Company size: 155 employees
Role in this company: I was brought in to lead the organization through a softening market and worked to right-size the company while improving margins and operational efficiency. I reworked the pricing model for 600+ products, instituted a new commissions structure, and worked to coach sales and marketing teams to rework the B2B approach. Also consulted on the financial side of the business working with the accounting teams on projections, forecasts, and business opportunity selection.
Strengths in this role: Flexibility and Multitasking were paramount in this role. As a true greenfield start-up, I was Plumber, Sales, Brewer, Accountant, and Janitor. As the company grew, I attracted investment, hired several staff, and grew the operation to a $1M valuation with consistent growth by coaching team members and empowering them to make autonomous, company-goal guided decisions.
Industry Group: Manufacturing
Industry: Food Production
Years of experience: 5 years
Company name: FireWheel Brewing
Company size: 8 employees
Role in this company: Owner/Founder. I started this craft brewery and grew from a homebrew operation to a $1M valuation in 2 years, hiring up to 8 employees to sustain growth. I ran Accounting, Sales, Operations, and Procurement, everything except brewing after I hired a brewer. I also worked to secure outside funding for step one expansion.
